A. During the last session of the Spring Conference of European Data Protection Authorities on 11 May 2007, the following documents have been adopted:
1. The Declaration on the Principle of Availability together with the Common Position and Checklist.
2. The Declaration on the Proposal of the Council for a draft framework Decision on the protection of personal data processed in the framework of police and judicial co-operation in criminal matters.
3. The Decision on the future of the Police Working Party.
3.1 This Decision provides, inter alia, for the election of a Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Police Working Party for a period of two years.
Mr A. Peterfalvi, chairman of the Police Working Party, informed the Conference that pursuant to his request for the submission of candidacies, dated 2 May 2007, only two candidacies were submitted, that of Mr F. Pizzetti, Chairman of the Italian Data Protection Authority, for the position of Chairman, and of Mr de Schutter, member of the Belgian Data Protection Authority, for the position of Vice-Chairman.
Accordingly, Mr Pizzetti was elected as Chairman and Mr de Schutter as Vice-Chairman of the Police Working Party, respectively, for a term of two years.
3.2 The Police Working Party has been renamed as the Working Party on Police and Justice.
B. On the suggestion of the Finnish delegate Ms E. Kumpula, the Conference has given the mandate to the Portuguese Authority, as the organizer of the next case handling workshop in autumn 2007, to carry out an analysis and report on the situation in member states of the Conference regarding one of the following topics, data transfers or credit referencing agencies, as the Portuguese Authority may decide.
